Bible stories about courage
Courage in the Bible is almost never the absence of fear. Daniel was afraid. The three friends in Babylon had every reason to be afraid. Courage is what people did next, when they decided that God was bigger than the thing in front of them.
These are the stories to reach for when a child is facing something hard, a first day, a bully, a dark room, a doctor. Each is illustrated, read aloud, and ends with a lesson and a family prayer.
“Haven't I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
